If you’ve searched for Facebook app on Roku then you’ve quickly discovered there’s no obvious app present… at least not in the official Roku Channel Store.
You can get Facebook on Roku by casting from PC or phone to Roku. For phone: download “Web Cast Video” app, launch Facebook or Facebook Watch using the URL browser. For PC: turn “screen mirroring” on in Roku and cast via windows “Connection” options. Enjoy Facebook on Roku!
I’ll be going over the exact details throughout this post to ensure you can use Facebook on Roku and also get Facebook Watch on Roku.
There aren’t any Roku jailbreak channels to watch Facebook on Roku.
Before moving forward: Did you know you can also just use a Roku Internet browser as well?

Can I get Facebook on Roku?
By now you may be aware that you can get Facebook and Facebook Watch on Roku, just not through the core official channels available for download on Roku. The only alternative will be casting or screen mirroring until Roku and Facebook come to terms on an official app… which may never happen!
If you don’t wish to cast from a secondary device (such as your phone or computer) in order to use Facebook on Roku, then you can simply upgrade to an inexpensive Amazon Firestick. I made the upgrade not long ago and am happy I did. It truly is the ultimate streaming device and doesn’t cost much for the benefits it provides.
Is Facebook Watch on Roku?
Facebook Watch is not “officially” on Roku, but is available through screencasting or mirroring. Though, the reason many might be asking this (repeatedly) is because they really just want to know if there is a non-certified, private channel.
Is there a Facebook Private channel code?
There is no non-certified, private channel for Facebook Watch or Facebook on Roku. See all the Roku private channel codes that exist… you may find a few gems in there you had no idea existed!
It’s also true that there is no sideloading the app on Roku. This further extinguishes the small flare of hope we all had in the back of our minds as workarounds methods to watch Facebook on Roku.
How to get Facebook on Roku (and Facebook Watch)
You can get Facebook on Roku by using casting methods since there is no official channel in the App Store and no private channels for Facebook created by third-party developers.

If you don’t want to upgrade to Firestick on Roku. You’ll need to screencast or screen mirror and use a secondary device. Which works fine and dandy.
Wait… Should I really use another device instead of Roku or no?
I personally upgraded to Firestick since Facebook as well as a plethora of other apps I use aren’t on Roku but are easily accessible on the handy little Amazon miracle stick.
As mentioned earlier: it was a small price to pay for the benefits and I just grabbed it without thinking- and I’m glad I impulsively did.

By downloading Web Cast app on iOS or Android you’ll experience the most smooth method to date for Facebook on Roku.
It’s easier to handle than a laptop and can be used as a handy remote as well. Not to mention the minimal amount of lag as well vs screen mirroring from Windows using Chrome or MiraCast.

- Open Google Play or Apple store, download “Web Video Cast”.
- Open the app, then type in facebook.com/watch as the URL on the app’s native web browser.

Alternative ways to use Facebook on Roku
An alternative way to use Facebook on Roku is by screen mirroring a PC or laptop to your Roku. This is certainly useful for when your smartphone is low on battery or when you want to get Facebook live on Roku. This is an effective way to utilize your Roku’s bluetooth with Miracast or Airplay to get Facebook on Roku (depending on how new your Roku is)
Now, if you’re gaming, then you can check out how to get Facebook gaming on Roku as this is a true method of getting the new streaming app on your Roku stick or premium Roku device.
Get Facebook, Facebook Watch and Facebook live on Roku by screen mirroring from Windows
For Facebook live it’s important to note that you’ll be able to watch the live streams on Roku by viewing your computer screen. Everything will function as if you’re using a computer, laptop, or tablet as you’re technically doing nothing more than simply mirroring your display.
Here’s how to use screen mirroring on Windows to watch Facebook on Roku:
- Ensure screen mirroring setting is set to “enabled” on your Roku device.
- Next, locate “system”, then choose screen mirroring: “always-on”.
- Make sure your PC (Windows) is connected on the same WiFi as your Roku.
- Cast the Window’s display that has Facebook or Facebook Watch on it to Roku by clicking notifications at the bottom right of your taskbar.
- Next, select “connect to a wireless display”. Newer Roku models can add their device by clicking Bluetooth on Windows as well.
- Windows will scan for Roku. When Roku appears, hit connect.
- Congrats! You now have screen mirrored to watch Facebook on Roku from your computer!
Note: The outlined method above is not possible for Mac users since this is using a Windows only feature known as Miracast to cast. Mac users can use AirServer to cast from Mac to Roku.
Of course, these methods do work well… however, it still takes a serious toll out of your entertainment experience to require a secondary device. Keep in mind, there are many Roku hidden channels you can also access by viewing our complete list
I personally enjoy a seamless experience without a secondary device… which is why I had reccomended the specific Firestick device I pointed out earlier in this post.
Bottom line is that you can without a doubt get Facebook on Roku. The caveat is that there is no official app for Facebook and Facebook Watch on Roku. There’s also no way to download it as well as no private channel codes.
The best and the only way to enjoy Facebook Watch on Roku is by screen mirroring or casting from smartphone or PC. This is just another reason why most end up upgrading to a Firestick from Roku.
I outlined in this post how Webcast Video App, Chromecast, and Miracast (Windows) can enable Roku owners to stream Facebook from smartphone and computer to your Roku.
